These landscapes were created while in residence at Soaring Gardens Artists’ Retreat in northern Pennsylvania. Time spent walking and sketching in this pastoral landscape provided me with the opportunity to closely observe subtle changes that occur in nature. My observations are fleeting events; constantly affected by light, time of day, location, weather and also personal sentiments. I use light and space to communicate emotional content and hint at the brevity of this moment.
